Low light houseplants
January 11, 2006
Not every small office or home office has the ideal conditions for houseplants to thrive and therefore pass on the air cleaning benefits to you. One of the main prerequisites for plants to grow well is lighting, most of the useful light houseplants get is from natural lighting usually from a window.
Low light conditions mean that many houseplants will not survive, however there are a few plants that will tolerate lower lighting. Mother in laws tongue (sansevieria) is a relatively easy to grow plant that will grow in lower light conditions. Its is easy to care for and difficult to kill, it takes little looking after. If you want a plant in your office then mother in laws tongue is a good houseplant to start off with.
