Wrist rests
December 13, 2005
Wrist rests are used to help prevent tenosynovitis and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). This is where your wrist, particularly the underside resting on a hard surface causes inflammation around the tendons.
The use of a wrist rest can make task that require extended use of a computer mouse more comfortable. The usually gel filled rests provide a soft padded surface that moulds to your wrists and provides support and reduces pressure on the wrists.
There are several types of wrist rests including rests that are built into mouse pads, keyboard wrist rests and rests on there own that are used with a computer mouse.
